Survive Mercury Retrograde—
Remember the 3 R’s!
I can hear panicked cries from around the globe… “OH NO! MERCURY IS GOING RETROGRADE… HEAD FOR THE HILLS!”
Those who are born under the signs of Gemini and Virgo will be most affected by the retrograde, since Mercury is their ruling planet, but all will be feeling sluggish energy around communication and travel during this period. Does this mean that we need to hide out in our closets for the next 3 weeks? NO! Astrology is not to be used as a predetermined system of fear and dread. Instead, it is best utilized as a weather forecast, where we can strategically plan events and actions to work with the current celestial energies for optimum success.
The typical advice usually focuses on what we should NOT do during a retrograde period — buy a house, sign a contract, start a new job, purchase electronics, install software, etc. These are things to certainly consider, but the best way to handle this cosmic event is to take a more proactive approach when Mercury begins a retrograde period. NOW is the perfect time to TAKE A BREAK, SLOW DOWN and REVIEW.

- RETURN to an unfinished project and FINALLY get it done!
- Contact an old business partner, friend or lover and RE-CONNECT
- Go through the closet and REMOVE old clothes that no longer serve
- Clean the house, basement or garage, REMOVING clutter
- Organize and RE-SORT old files
- BACK-UP important documents and files on the computer
- RESEARCH and get estimates for upcoming projects
- REVISIT an old project to develop ways make it better
- CHECK and DOUBLE-CHECK all communications, making sure all parties are understood.
- REVIEW contracts and bank statements carefully to catch any errors
- The theme for this period should be RESEARCH, REWORK, REVIEW, and REDO. Then, when Mercury gets up to speed (in about 3 weeks), we can hit the ground running with all our well-prepared plans and strategies!
