Full Moon in Taurus

Surprising events bring deep feelings to the surface!

The Full Moon at 8 degrees Taurus on October 31 connects “dead-on” with “freedom fighter” Uranus also in Taurus as it opposes the Sun in secretive Scorpio. This full moon highlights second house issues concerning money, material possessions, security, and values. It also brings eighth house issues to the surface concerning the financial support we receive from others, and the darkness that we hide not only from others, but, even at times, from ourselves.

Uranus connecting with the moon can bring up deep emotions around self worth—what we need to feel valued or safe in the world. Conflicts in relationships may involve the financial and/or emotional support we need to receive from others. Are we feeling appreciated in relationships, both personal and professional? Are we feeling valued and supported? If not, we may feel the need to break free from any ties that seem to be holding us back at this time.

With Uranus, anything can happen! It rules earthquakes, lightning, sudden eruptions, and innovative insights—so be prepared for surprising developments, reactions, and behaviors from others in relationships and situations. We may feel a strong desire to hold on to things that make us feel safe and secure, but Uranus will break us free from anything stagnant that has been limiting our growth. Uranus opposing the Sun in Scorpio can bring sudden blows to our ego, or trigger deep wounds that may have been hidden under the threshold of our awareness. Whatever surfaces at this time is begging to be faced and healed so that we may become free of any personal, self-sabotaging demons.

Venus is strong in her home sign of Libra as she opposes the wounded healer Chiron in Aries. Venus wants to create harmony in relationships with everyone happy and peaceful, but the energy of warrior Aries can be impatient and confrontational, acting like a child with a temper tantrum, as he demands to be heard. We may experience people around us as harsh, selfish, or unreasonable. People around us may act out as old wounds are triggered. We must handle relationships and situations carefully, to keep the peace and maintain harmony.

Mercury Retrograde (soon to station direct on November 3) is also in Libra. He will be in a tense aspect to Saturn in Capricorn, bringing serious discussions with authority figures, pessimism, paranoia, and depressing thoughts. The retrograde can bring misunderstandings in communication, chaos, confusion, and missed connections. We may experience a conflict of ideas with authority figures, or feel blocked from self-expression. We can resolve any conflicts by not overreacting emotionally to sudden events, but by displaying loving kindness—using diplomacy to soothe any hurt feelings and create fair outcomes.

If any surprising developments surface at the Full Moon, it is important to let go of control, and roll with the changes. They promise to lead us out of stagnation toward a refreshing and authentic new life!
