New Moon in Pisces—
Surprising new beginnings bring
the magic back into our lives!
The New Moon at 4 degrees Pisces on February 23rd has favorable support from Mars in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus as it moves toward a conjunction with Mercury in retrograde. This romantic New Moon ruled by mystical Neptune may have us wanting to step out of the race to rest and recharge as we focus on making a dream real. We may feel like going on a mini-retreat to create art, poetry, or music as we meditate on what we would like to manifest in the coming months.
Mercury retrograde in Pisces may have us dreaming of the past, and may in fact bring people or situations from the past back into our lives for review. This is not the time to make final decisions or sudden moves as our thinking may be clouded by Neptune’s idealism or fuzzy logic. Situations may seem more glamorous than they really are at this time. It may be best to wait until mid-March, when Mercury goes direct and enters Aries, before setting things in stone.
Mars, strong in Capricorn, gives us energy and ambition to craft practical plans around anything we want to begin at this time. We must not fear any challenges or changes as we are being blessed by the supportive energy of the warrior planet as he connects with explosive Uranus in Taurus. Uranus may bring surprising developments around love, security, self-worth, or finances. This can be a good time to think outside the box when solving financial or relationship issues. Expect the unexpected while Uranus is active at this new moon. Some surprises may be wonderful!
The New Moon winks at the South Node in Capricorn and moves toward the North Node in Cancer this month. We are reminded to make time for self-care. “All work and no play” must not be on the agenda during this New Moon cycle. It is time to release past patterns that have had us being too serious, or working too hard—neglecting family, friends, lovers, and fun. The New Moon in Pisces is asking us to slow down, connect with those that nurture us, and bring the magic back into our lives!
