New Moon in Gemini trine
Saturn—This beginning will last!

Find new ways to communicate and make it happen!

The Sun and Moon join together at 2 degrees Gemini at 1:38 p.m. (EST) on May 22, 2020. The New Moon in the sign of the storyteller is in favorable aspect to Saturn in forward thinking Aquarius, while forming a square to warrior Mars in dreamy Pisces. A new moon usually represents the beginning of a cycle, or a new path. Gemini rules the third house of communication. Our new beginnings may involve speaking, thinking, the media, siblings, relatives, local travel, and/or contracts. We may want to share our thoughts and ideas with others through conversations, writing, social media, the Internet, or any other form of communication. We may even be juggling two situations at this New Moon, since Gemini is also the sign of the twins.

With a trine to Saturn, anything we begin or launch at this time has the potential to be a success. Saturn brings stability and structure to our thoughts or plans. We may be thinking about work, obligations, or making a commitment. Saturn in Aquarius can help us find solutions or ideas that are innovative and cutting edge, yet practical and reality-based.

Saturn can also represent obstacles or fears that we may need to overcome. He often requires hard work and discipline to achieve our goals. With the taskmaster’s support at this New Moon, we may be able to overcome any fears or concerns about reaching out and sharing our ideas with others.

Mars in Pisces challenges us to overcome inertia. We may not have the energy or drive to go after what we need. We may feel confused, lazy, or uncertain about taking action toward our desires. Instead, we may feel like escaping into a fantasy world—dreaming about what we want, without actually going for it.

At the same time, retrograde Venus at 20 degrees Gemini joins with Mercury as they form a tense aspect to Neptune in Pisces. We may receive messages from past lovers, or revisit past relationships. We may need to rethink and renegotiate financial contracts or agreements. Neptune’s influence can bring deception, misunderstandings, or confusion. If re-connecting with past lovers, we must be wary of falling for romantic promises that may not be based in reality. Remember—actions speak louder than words! If signing contracts or forming partnerships, we must look carefully at the details to learn exactly what we are receiving, or what we are expected to give.

On a brighter note, Venus, Mercury, and Neptune contacts can support creativity and artistic excellence as we channel impressions from the collective consciousness. If working on a creative writing or art project, our words or images can seem magical as we find new ways of expressing our love or ideas.

If we can avoid the dangers of fear, inertia, and idealization—speaking up and getting our message out there—this lunation can bring us closer to creating a new project or relationship that will last—a goal worthy of our time and efforts!
