Blue Moon in Aquarius —
Find your inner rebel to release
what no longer serves you.
In the early morning hours of Friday, July 31, a “BLUE” moon glows in futuristic Aquarius at nearly 8 degrees. When a month has two full moons, the second one is known as the “Blue Moon.” This moon has no major challenging aspects, but asks us to balance our need to express our individuality with support we must give to our friendships, groups and society. Leo is all about honoring our inner child, being playful and dramatic to attract attention, while unconventional Aquarius is focused on innovative thinking and cutting edge technology — believing that “the needs of the many should come before the needs of the one.”
Rebellious Uranus and workaholic Saturn rule Aquarius. Both are retrograde at this time, so the conflict may take place within as we try to free ourselves from past conditioning, relationships, fears and anything that has been holding us back from living our truth and finding our soul purpose. Our internal struggle may reach critical mass at this full moon, forcing us to finally speak up about what we need from others in our search for fulfillment in both relationships and at work. This may result in a culmination of a long-standing problem that we haven’t been willing to face until now. Internal pressure may finally erupt causing us to break the standstill, bringing a breath of fresh air to our lives and loves, as we realize that the time has come to DO something about what has been festering underneath the surface for quite some time. Unexpected actions and events may arise from both our selves and others as we rebel against the status quo of our perceived limitations in search of freedom and change.
Venus, Saturn, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are also retrograde at this full moon. With all this retrograde energy, we need to slow down and review our plans, actions, relationships, limitations and illusions as we contemplate our place in the grand scheme of life. Saturn, still in a square aspect to Jupiter and Venus, cautions us that now might not be the best time for ill-considered, “over-the top” actions, or spending money recklessly. Father time wants us to take calculated risks on the road to freedom. When Saturn moves direct on August 2, we may see areas in our life that have been previously blocked start to move as well.
With the full moon forming a trine aspect to the North Node in Libra, we are called to release the familiar past and move out of our comfort zone toward our true karmic path. We are reminded that living our soul purpose must also involve working with others to find balance, peace and justice for all on the way to a more evolved future.
