January 2020 Love TarotScopes—
Full Moon Eclipse in Cancer,
Uranus Direct, Saturn Conjunct Pluto!
Release what is no longer working to embrace a more fulfilling path!
The full moon lunar eclipse in maternal Cancer opposes the Sun in stoic Capricorn on January 10, 2020, at 2:21 p.m. EST. The sensitive Cancer moon falls opposite a powerful gang of planets in serious Capricorn—the Sun, Mercury, Saturn, and Pluto. Issues around career and family will take center stage at this emotional full moon. We may need to juggle career or work obligations with the demands of loved ones and family members. Tension or power struggles involving work-life balance may come to a head at this time. We may feel burdened with work projects that are nearing completion, or experience sudden endings or changes around home and family. Ordinary full moons usually last one month, but the energies around this eclipse will be felt for at least six months until the next eclipse cycle in June and July.
Benevolent Jupiter moved into Capricorn in December 2019, and will remain there until December 2020. Those with Capricorn rising will feel like a “golden child” for the year. Jupiter usually brings luck and opportunity, but in Capricorn this will require effort and commitment. At the lunar eclipse in Cancer, Jupiter will be conjunct the South Node in Capricorn and trine unpredictable Uranus in Taurus. Sudden opportunities may arrive to help free us from old habits and barriers or blockages to success.
A day after the Cancer full moon, Uranus in Taurus will station direct after having been retrograde for the past 5 months. If situations around money or security have felt stagnant, Uranus turning direct will help to get things moving as well. Get ready for surprising people and situations to fly in “out of the blue!”
All of this energy stacking up in Capricorn asks us to look realistically at our fears, our status in society, our career paths, our relationships, and our life plans. With the Sun and Mercury in Capricorn, we may need to get real about what we think we are or how we want to be perceived by others. We may need to have serious discussions with co-workers or family members. We must look realistically at what we are working to achieve at this time and how we are communicating with others as we form strategic plans for the future—without falling into the trap of Capricorn’s cynical thinking or paranoia.
Saturn and Pluto will meet in an exact conjunction in Capricorn on January 12, 2020. Saturn in Capricorn demands commitment, discipline, and hard work if we are to succeed. If we have been working hard toward a goal, we may begin to see results or be asked to take on more responsibility. This is a time when “the rubber meets the road” and we must embrace the reality of what we are trying to accomplish. Those who have taken the easy way out may experience failure at this time. A lesson taught by taskmaster Saturn for those trying to avoid responsibility.
Pluto in Capricorn conjunct Saturn can bring power and control issues to the table, both in our personal lives and on the world stage. We are ready to claim our power, but that power must be built on self-worth, discipline, and a passion to make a difference as we work to achieve goals that will also benefit the lives of others. Bullying, manipulative, or selfish behavior to get what we want may end in destruction or a fall from grace. Yet, Pluto offers us a chance to rise from the ashes of what has become obsolete or has been destroyed. We must release old systems, patterns of behavior, beliefs, people, places and anything that is no longer working so that we are free to create new paths that lead to more fulfilling lives. If things are ending or collapsing at this time, let them go. A better way forward is on the horizon for everyone!
