The new moon on June 13th will be at 22 degrees Gemini. This light and airy moon will bring opportunities for new beginnings in communication as the sun and moon meet in the sign of the storyteller. Gemini’s ruling planet is Mercury, representing divine inspiration and communication. He is also known as the “messenger of the Gods.” We may be excited this month about beginning a communication project, inspired to write about our thoughts and feelings, or we may finally speak up about something that has been building up from within.
With Mercury at 2 degrees Cancer opposing Saturn at 6 degrees Capricorn, we may have something serious to discuss. Communication with authority figures may seem harsh and judgmental. We may feel afraid to speak up about our needs, fearing rejection, or feel that we are not being heard. Saturn in Capricorn will show us any flaws in our thinking, helping us to clarify our goals and create realistic action plans. We must be careful not to fall into the trap of negative thinking at this time. Mercury in Cancer wants us to nurture, using gentle words of support. We can have healing conversations if we can overcome our fear of being vulnerable to ask for what we need.
We may want to keep conversations light and breezy at the Gemini new moon, but Saturn will demand that we face reality and honor our obligations. The way to use this energy best is to look at our style of communication. Are we speaking up about what is important? Are we letting others know what we need, or are we avoiding confrontation? Are we being too harsh as we try to get our needs met, or not assertive enough? Now is the time to make changes in our delivery. It’s not what we say, but how we say it that will make a difference in the end. Communication at this time can bring either hurt feelings or healing — if we choose our words carefully, considering the needs and feelings of others as well as our own. We must think carefully before we speak this month.
On June 28th, the moon at 6 degrees Capricorn opposes the sun in Cancer. This full moon calls for a balance between work and home life. We will want to be home, working around the house, but instead may find ourselves busy finishing up projects at work with not much time to spend with family or friends. Loved ones may feel neglected this month, while we are working hard to manifest our dreams. We may have taken on too much during last month’s grand water trine involving the Moon, Jupiter, and Neptune when optimism was at an all-time high.
Uranus in Taurus at 2 degrees supports the full moon in Capricorn. Unexpected surprises involving career, finances, or property may be revealed at the full moon, which usually represents a completion or culmination—the results of past effort. Some of us may be buying or selling a house. Others may receive a new job opportunity, financial support, or recognition that boosts self-esteem.
